There was a full three-second pause, and then Uki burst out laughing. “Oh, Stars,
Thor! Nur? No, Nur is the last man I’d want to seduce!” And she giggled, “Maybe
not the last. Gaston has that place of honour. No, Nur wants to seduce me
because he thinks I’d be useful. It’s not very sexy, let me tell you, to be looked at
as a tool. He’d bed me because it wouldn’t be too much like work but does he
love me? No, he doesn’t even like me! He certainly has never asked me the right
question, the one that would get me interested in him.”
Still chuckling, Uki pushed away her plate. She had a meeting to get to. “No, the
object of my lust still isn’t reciprocating my advances. I have yet to find the right
outfit or say the right words. Maybe one day that’ll change. I’m hopeful! I’ll see
you soon, Thor. Good bye!” And she stood up.
“Wait! Before you go – what’s the question that Nur never asked you?”
Uki hesitated and then grinned, her eyes snapping in amusement.
“Now you don’t think I’ll tell you, do you? That would let the cat out of the bag!”
She nodded and walked out, still smiling to herself. Nur! Oh, she was on the hunt
for Nur, but not to seduce him.
He wouldn’t be so lucky.
