As the Queen of the Fairies, Caddy’s title was a lot grander than reality. Reality demanded that the elves needed their symbiotic relationship with a magical lord tribe to survive  and seven lords weren’t enough. A drug addict, a kid, a lord who hadn’t found his magic yet, a lord trapped in a raven’s body, a lord who lives as a fungus – it wasn’t an impressive group.
 
Lords were theoretically extinct as a species, and if Caddy couldn’t find more, extinction wouldn’t be a theory; it would be a fact. It didn’t help that no new lords would be born if Caddy’s ragtag court couldn’t find a date.
 
But lords were out there, hiding in odd corners of the world and learning they weren’t alone. Slowly, they were emerging and bringing new romance and adventure with them.  All Caddy and Kyrylo had to do was find lost lords and keep them alive long enough to bring them home. And that, of course, was easier said than done.
